The user or domain that you are sending to has a policy that prohibited my email. What is this?

If you recently sent an email message to somebody you may have received this automated response back:

"The response from the recipient enterprise administrator was:
The user or domain that you are sending to (or from) has a policy that prohibited the mail that you sent.
Please contact your domain administrator for further details."

This occurs when the recipient has configured their email account in such a way that it will filter objectionable content, such as large attachments or attachments that can be potentially malicious.

In such circumstances where this occurs we recommend removing the objectionable content or contacting the recipient another way, such as by phone.
